SEismic Engineering & Dynamics Lab
¡¡The SEismic Engineering and structural Dynamics (SEED) Lab has started after Prof. Sang Whan Han joined Hanyang University as a faculty member in 1997. Since 1997, this lab has been transferring knowledge of structural engineering and earthquake engineering to young students and structural engineers. The focusing area of this Lab is: (1) Seismic design of tall buildings, (2) Development of seismic performance evaluation procedures, (3) Structural reliability analysis, (4) Nonlinear analysis of large structures, (5) Developing structural design methods and design procedures against dynamic loads such as earthquakes, winds, and impacts. Moreover this lab has the key technologies to construct seismic map as well as to generate ground motions at any location in the Korean peninsula. Through this lab, 56 students received Master and Ph.D degrees. Most of graduates have been working for construction companies and structural design companies. Currently, 1 professor, 3 combined master's and doctorate program and 7 master¡¯s students are in lab and the number of graduate students enrolled in this lab is 83.

Berkeley¿Í University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign ¿¬±¸ÀÚµé°ú °øµ¿¿¬±¸¸¦ ÁøÇàÇÏ¸ç ¸¹Àº ½ÇÀûÀ» ¸¸µé¾î ³ª°¡°í ÀÖÀ¸¸ç ±¸Á¶°øÇко߿¡ ¸¹Àº ±â¿©¸¦ ÇÏ°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. ƯÈ÷ ¸ð¸àÆ® Á¢ÇÕºÎÀÇ ±¸Á¶½ÇÇè ¹× ¼º´ÉÆò°¡¿Í °£·«Çؼ®¹ý¿¡ °üÇÑ ¸¹Àº Ư¼ºÈ­µÈ ±â¼úÀ» º¸À¯ÇÏ°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. ÇöÀç ´ëÇпø Á¹¾÷»ý ÃÑ 85¸íÀÌ ¹èÃâµÇ¾úÀ¸¸ç, ÇöÀç ¿¬±¸½Ç Àç½Ç ÀοøÀº ±³¼ö 1¸í, ¼®¹Ú»ç°úÁ¤ 3¸í, ¼®»ç°úÁ¤ 7¸í ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. ¿¬±¸½Ç ÀοøÁß ¹Ú»ç´Â ÇÑ»óȯ ±³¼ö¸¦ Æ÷ÇÔÇÏ¿© ÃÑ 14¸í(ÃÑÀοøÀÇ 16%)ÀÌ°í, ±¸Á¶±â¼ú»ç´Â ÇÑ»óȯ ±³¼ö¸¦ Æ÷ÇÔÇÏ¿© ÃÑ 10¸í(ÃÑÀοøÀÇ 12%)ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
